Deyara Morris Burns, LMSW
Deyara Morris Burns was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, and in July 2020, she married the love of her life. As a product of a single-parent household, raised by her mother, she has overcome many obstacles, such as homelessness and poverty. Through these obstacles, she finds a drive to want to help others, particularly the Black community.
Deyara was ordained as a Deaconess on January 20, 2019. On January 16, 2022, she was ordained as a Pastor at a Baltimore-based church, where she is now the presiding Youth Pastor.
In 2022, she earned a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Deyara Morris Burns has spent her life using her personal and career experiences to help others and give back to her community. She taught high school mathematics at a public charter school in the Baltimore City Public School System for four years before she felt the call to social work. As a licensed social worker and pastor, she is passionate about advocating, empowering, and supporting the youth and families of Baltimore City and highlighting the strengths and assets of the community. Deyara specializes in Anxiety, Depression, teen issues, trauma, and spirituality.
When she’s not facilitating therapeutic sessions; Deyara can be found reading a good fiction romance novel, playing with her two dogs, enjoying nature, or spending time with her loved ones. Often described as sincere, understanding, and relatable Deyara is known for creating spaces where people can be their most authentic selves.
